The Way the Wind Blows

Sometime ago, I was listening to a sermon by my friend Alan.  In it, he spoke about the Spirit and the biblical Kingdom of God- and how, through love, it spreads like salt.

It was during that sermon that this image came to me.  I saw a tree with beautiful pink blossoms on it.  There was a brilliant orange sunset behind it and the petals of the blossoms were fluttering in the breeze.

As they left the tree they made a pink confetti mist that sprinkled the ground below- some of them floated on.  Remembering the image, I now see my daughter dancing beneath that tree. Eyes closed and chin up spinning with a smile.  As the petals of the blossoms bounce off her eyelids I hear the faint sound of a music box.

Yes.  The Kingdom does spread gently.
